I think the possibility of of Steve Laffey running is more likely than it was a few months ago. However, at this time, I don't necessarily think it is probable that he will run. Trust me, I'd love to be wrong about that. Frankly, as you pointed out, there's no need for him to rush any decisions about it. The longer he waits, the more people will be talking about it.

I have nothing against Joe Trillo, but if I were a betting man, my hunch is that he won't run for governor after all, regardless as to whether Steve Laffey gets into the race. I don't think Joe is planning for a political suicide mission. He's a smart guy.

I just found that out after starting my WP blog and signin up with a few affiliate programs. . .
1. I would set up a mock/test blog on Wordpress to test it all out first. It's free so you should be able to make

2. Make sure that any other user that posted on the old blog (Quick Blogcast) is also a user on your mock site (Wordpress). When you import the entries by different authors into Wordpress, it's going to ask you to associate those old authors with current users. If there's no user in Wordpress that wrote an old blog in Blogcast, then you'll have to associate that entry with another user... possibly yourself.

3. Export all the entries with categories, comments, etc. from Blogcast to a textfile. It sounds like you know how to do this so I won't go through it.

4. Now open up that textfile that you saved in WordPad (I didn't use Notepad or MSWord, so I don't know if there are any quirks if you decide to use either of them.) What you want to do is edit the file a bit. You want to get rid of any instances of the phrase - "STATUS: Published" - that is in the file. So on the Wordpad menu, click -Edit-, then -Replace- . In the Find what textbox type -> Status: Published, and leave the Replace with textbox empty... now let it do its thing and replace all the instances of that phrase. Now save the file.

5. I would go back and do another Find what in the textfile to make sure all of the phrases of "Status: Published" are removed. I would also do a Find what in the textfile of the word - Status: - because there might be some other type of variation of the phrase "Status: " (like Status: Draft) that might get overlooked. Once you're sure that all of those phrases are out, then save your textfile.

6. Now go to your mock Wordpress blog. On the Wordpress dashboard, go to -Tools-, and select -Import- . You'll then get a list of the different ways you can import into Wordpress. You want to select the - Movable Type and Typepad - option.

7. Choose the textfile from your computer and upload. The maximum file size to upload is 15MB. If your file is too big, then let me know and I'll show you how to split the file.

8. You'll then have to assign authors from the Blogcast blog entries to users on your mock Wordpress blog. Once done, click - Submit -

9. All the entries will be imported as Drafts. Go to the Posts section on the Wordpress dashboard. You can then select all those blog entries to do a bulk edit on them, and change their status to Published... should be one quick step.

10. Double check some of the entries (either before or after Step 9) and make sure everything looks OK.

That should be it. Once the mock blog looks OK, then you can repeat the process on the real blog. Let me know how it turns out. This was all done as volunteer work... which means you can expect a bill in the mail. :)

NP should check out Pawtucket. We just had the same proposal, but got it shot down.

Until RI expands relaxes its recycle restrictions this is a bad idea. RI only allows for limited recyclable material (#1 and some #2 plastic). All other plastic has to go in those Pay As You Throw bags.

Maybe city and town officials could come together to get the RI Resource Recovery Corp to change their limits. Either that or take our recycle material somewhere else.

There might be a limit to transfer entries, but I don't think there's a limit to export. You should be able to export your blog entries as a text file... and your comments along with them. I don't know how easy it would be to import that text file into Wordpress, but I could ask around.

Can anybody tell me why we are forced by Federal mandate to pay for all the needs of illegal aliens? Can anybody inform the people, why businesses pay absolutely-- NOTHING--for their upkeep? Can anybody say why Americans will put up with this travesty, because if we start deporting, by whatever means? That prisons will start to empty, our schools will return to places of education and performance without serious overcrowding? That our schools would no longer have to grovel for school materials, instead of teachers, have the kids sell food items to parents? Can any taxpayer tell me why we must allow foreign children receive lower tuition fees than our own children.

That the federal and state treasuries will begin a slow upsurge towards solvency? That we can once again afford health care for our impoverished citizens, including food stamps and low income housing--instead of being intentionally ignored by Washington? Can anybody tell me why our legislators are in collusion with anti-sovereignty, pro-illegal labor, free traders, who have devastated the less skilled American workers? Can anybody tell me why the majority party wants to pass another AMNESTY? That will give even more illegal aliens access to our wilting Social Security and pensions? Can anybody tell me why with a new path to citizenship, millions of family members will be admitted under the family unification, which you will also need to be supported? Is there any logic reason to pass the AGJOB bill for foreign farm workers, when their is a law in place already? Can anybody impress on me why illegal labor, who taxpayers subsides, yet our government allows them to send billions of dollars overseas?

Can anybody rationalize to me, why the Supreme Court says having a bogus social security number is not a felony? Can anybody tell me why we admit 2.5 million legal immigrants annually, but our lawmakers give lip service to enforcing an undermanned, partially built border fence, or enforce the border permanently with Nation Guard troops? Can anybody offer an explanation why E-Verify, 247(g) or the Real ID act has been weakened, by Sen. Harry Reid, Speaker Pelosi and a host of other confederates to weaken our immigration laws? Can anybody tell me why they want to count millions of illegal aliens in the census, thus giving more fraudulent seats in Congress to Sanctuary States like California and more funding. Can anybody express to me why many larger newspapers and media don't expose the truth about the out-of-control crime by illegal nationals The ugly facts at NUMBERSUSA.

I agree with most of what you are saying, but I don't think we should ban brothels. Many of the women want to work together as a matter of safety. There is safety in numbers. That is why you have never heard of any violent crime or any crime at all in any of these spas. If we did not allow them to work together, then more would be pushed into working out of hotels and they would be more likely a target of crime, just like the Craigslist killer.
Check out Happy Endings? a documentary on the Asian massage parlors in RI
http://www.happyendingsdoc.com

Support the revised (SAVE) Act as it targets employers with stiff penalties for hiring illegal aliens, secures the northern and southern border by adding 8,000 new border patrol agents and increases interior enforcement by allowing for additional federal district court judges and provides more resources for law enforcement officers. In this package E-Verify would be mandatory, in-perpetuity driving illegal labor from the workplace. Rep. Heath Schuler's e-verification program, would require federal agencies, contractors and employers to verify the eligibility of --ALL EMPLOYEES--within one to four years, depending on the size of the company. Using this procedure, identity fraud wrought through fake social security numbers and bogus ID's would be reduced significantly.

This is not about discrimination because E-verify is activated after someone has been hired,” Shuler said. “This helps to ensure that local officials can identify who they arrest. Interior enforcement is crucial.” It's essential that Americans back him and his sponsors when the act is introduced in the next few weeks. This is namely after Sen. Harry Reid(D-NV) and speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) silently neutralized E-Verify, plus 48 other members of the Senate. We cannot trust these pro-illegal immigrant--PARIAH--cheap labor--BUSINESS politicians. With over 12 million Americans out of work and large numbers of new veterans entering the workplace, we cannot accept any legalization of 13 to 20 million foreign nationals. Offer your support to Rep.Shuler (D-NC) on his gov website. Phone: 828-252-1651 Learn more at NUMBERSUSA
