Frank Caprio tells Barack Obama to 'shove it'

Political views aside, today's comments from Frank Caprio are bad on many levels.  After finding out Barack Obama wouldn't be endorsing him, he said the President could "shove" his endorsement.  He then went on to criticize him for not visiting Rhode Island during the floods earlier this year, and said Obama sees us as an "ATM machine."  That sound you just heard was Caprio's poll numbers dropping.

Whether you agree or disagree with Caprio's view on Obama's failure to visit Rhode Island, it's hard to respect his opinion.  If the criticism had come months ago, I could respect his view.  The fact that it comes after he finds out he isn't getting an endorsement makes him look like a petulant child having a temper tantrum.  Plus, we have him telling the President to "shove it".  Party aside, I want a Governor who is principled, knows how to act, and can keep their composure.  Today, Frank Caprio showed he is badly lacking in these areas.

The lack of an endorsement shouldn't have come as a surprise.  Did Caprio forget that Lincoln Chafee endorsed Barack Obama during the 2008 election (after he supported Hilary Clinton)?  Why should he get an endorsement for merely being a member of the same party?  Isn't this the same guy who shopped his candidacy to the Republican Party?

If another poll is conducted in the next few days, I wouldn't be surprised to see Caprio drop to third place behind Lincoln Chafee and John Robitaille (hopefully, not in that order).   Frank Caprio has shown that he lacks the common sense and demeanor to be Governor.
