The Republican Governor's Association comes to Robitaille's rescue
According to the Associated Press, the Republican Governor's Association has purchased $411,000 in ads for John Robitaille's Gubernatorial campaign. It's about time.
Over the past few weeks, Frank Caprio and Lincoln Chafee have done an excellent job of showing the electorate why we shouldn't vote for them. Through it all, John Robitaille has stayed above the fray and seems like the most likable and competent candidate. His big problem was the lack of money. Now that the RGA has become involved, I would expect the race to get much closer. As a matter of fact, this might have already happened.
According to John Robitaille's Facebook page, the RGA conducted a poll which has him at 28%, Frank Caprio at 28%, and Lincoln Chafee at 27%. The poll was conducted after his ads started running on TV, which probably contributed to his increased popularity. For those who doubt the poll, ask yourself this question: Would the RGA have poured over $400,000 into the gubernatorial race if they didn't believe John Robitaille had an outstanding chance of winning? If Caprio and Chafee aren't nervous, they should be.
