Vice President Joe Biden and other members of the Obama administration will not be attending the National Conference of Mayors in Providence.  The firefighter's union, local 799, is planning to picket the event and requested that the administration honor the picket line, and they agreed.

     This is unfortunate, since the decision not to attend will probably have a ripple affect on other potential attendees.  That means fewer hotel rooms, fewer customers in restaurants, and less shopping in stores.  I usually disagree with David Cicilline, but I think he's probably on the right side of this debate.
