California Supreme Court Rules 6-1 to Uphold Proposition 8

The California Supreme Court ruled 6-1 to uphold Proposition 8 which makes same-sex marriage illegal.  Fortunately, the court did decide that the 18,000 same-sex marriages performed before November 4, 2008 will remain legal.  For those who support same-sex marriage, it is a disappointing outcome, but the majority's decision seems to be logical.

There is already talk of having a question on the ballot in 2010 that would make same-sex marriage legal.  Even though I disagree with the voter's decision on November 4th, it was their decision.  If it is to be changed, it should be changed by a vote rather than a court.
