Massachusetts GIves Free Cars to Welfare Recipients...and That's Not All!
Do you need a car? If you do, I know how you can get one. Just move to Massachusetts and go on welfare. The state is giving welfare recipients a car (which was donated), then paying the car insurance, excise tax, title, registration, all repairs, and AAA membership. Deval Patrick seems to think it's a good idea, and feels the state breaks even. After all, if they don't have a car, they won't work, right?
I like limited government, and this obviously violates that big time. Why should the government provide cars to people as inducements to work? They should want to work so they can get ahead! You can't go through life expecting people to give you everything, unless you live in Massachusetts. Deval Patrick is looking at a big budget deficit, and programs like this one make it very clear how that deficit came into existence.
