The Providence Journal has an online poll asking readers who they would choose as Rhode Island's next governor.  Here are the results below:


1360 votes cast as of 4/6/09 at 7:30pm.

Frank Caprio  -  30.88%
Lincoln Chafee  -  35.88%
Joseph Trillo  -  17.06%
Elizabeth Roberts  -  6.03%
Patrick Lynch  -  10.15%


     This poll obviously needs to be taken with a grain of salt.  It isn't scientific, the election is 19 months away, and I'm sure other potential candidates will be mentioned, such as Bob Weygand.  The timing of the poll would also seem to boost Chafee's numbers since it was started on the day he announced the formation of an exploratory committee.  With that said, it looks like the 2010 election will be interesting to say the least.
