Barack Obama is Too Busy To Sign the Economic Stimulus Bill
Congress rushed to get the stimulus bill passed. They were in such a hurry, that many members of Congress didn't even read it! Well, as long as it was finished quickly. It had to be finished quickly so Barack Obama could sign it and begin to help Americans. After all, we kept hearing Democrats tell us that time was of the essence, not a day could be wasted! Well, how about three?
Eventhough Barack Obama and the Democrats describe the passage of the economic stimulus bill as an emergency that needs to be completed quickly, it looks like Mr. Obama isn't in too much of a hurry. He's enjoying a nice 3 day weekend in Chicago and will probably sign the bill on Tuesday when he travels to Denver.
If I were a member of Congress, I would be wondering why I put in several late nights, yet the President can't take a few minutes to sign a bill, and puts it off for three days. I'm sure it has nothing to do with him wanting to have a big, splashy media event where he can deliver another canned speech with the adoring media fawning over him as if he is the country's savior. No, that can't be it.
