The Majority of Americans Oppose the Economic Stimulus

A poll by Pew Research has found support for the stimulus waning, while Rasmussen reports that 62% want more tax cuts and less spending.  Michael Steele, Chairman of the Republican National Committee had this to say:

"The fastest way to help those families is by letting them keep more of the money they earn. Individual empowerment: that's how you stimulate the economy."

Not surprisingly, I agree with Michael Steele.  I prefer to see taxpayers keep their own money, rather than see the U.S. government borrow money for dubious projects.  Of course, the more money Congress has,  or is authorized to spend, the more power it has.  With that said, it's not surprising that they are choosing to go on a spending spree.
