Bill Richardson will not be the new Commerce Secretary in Barack Obama's administration.  A federal grand jury is investigating a company which contributed to Bill Richardson's campaign and was allegedly involved in a "pay-to-play" deal with someone in his administration.  This headline surprised me, since I would have expected news of any potential wrong-doing to emerge earlier.  Besides being on the national stage as a presidential candidate, I've read that Barack Obama's team thoroughly investigated nominees for positions.  It's surprising this didn't come to light sooner.
