No Sales Tax on Clothing: Frank Caprio Has the Right Idea

Frank Caprio has used funds from his campaign account to publicize Rhode Island's lack of a sales tax on clothing, while Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New York all tax clothing.   Rhode Island's taxes are excessive, but I give Caprio credit for bringing attention to one of the few areas where we are actually more competitive than other states.  If Caprio is elected our next Governor, let's hope he focuses on making our overall tax burden more competitive than neighboring states and reduces spending.
