Auto Industry Bailout Doesn't Look Likely

It looks like the proposed bailout of the auto industry is facing some obstacles.  Senator Chris Dodd doesn't know of any Republican senators who support the bailout, and House Minority Leader Jim Boehner says a bailout would be "neither fair to taxpayers nor sound fiscal policy."  I'm glad to read these statements.  After receiving a $25 billion loan from the government in September, the auto industry is back for more.  If they are successful, more companies will see it as a signal that they too can benefit from the taxpayers.  We need to close the checkbook and tell corporations they're on their own.
