Media Bias In Presidential Race

I'm a registered Republican and I'm voting for John McCain.  I'm not thrilled that John McCain is the Republican nominee, but I think he is a far better choice than Barack Obama.  Now that you know where I'm coming from, I would like to talk about media bias.  As someone who reads and watches news constantly, it seems the McCain campaign gets far more negative coverage, while Barack Obama is put on a pedestal.  I picked up on this, but I kept questioning the perceived difference.  Since my opinion on the topic is admittedly biased, was I looking for something that wasn't there?  I tried my best to be objective, but still felt the coverage wasn't equitable.

Today, I found an article about a study that found that there is indeed a media bias which favors the Obama campaign, and it isn't the first study to come to this conclusion.  When looking at the number of favorable comments, the study found that ABC was the most balanced (57% Democrats, 42% Republicans), with coverage by NBC (Democrats 56%, Republicans 16%) and CBS (Democrats 73%, Republicans 31%) being very slanted toward the Democrats.  Rather than merely report on what is happening, NBC and CBS appear to be trying to change what is happening.
