Supporters of Barack Obama often say he is the type of person who will unite the country.  I don't know what it is about him that makes people believe this, but I hear it frequently.  For someone who is expected to unite the country, he didn't seem to have a varied social circle as a young man.  Here's a quote from the article below, which is an excerpt form Obama's book, "Dream of My Father"

"To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully," the Democratic presidential candidate wrote in his memoir, "Dreams From My Father." "The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminists."


     Barack Obama is widely considered to be one of the most liberal members of the United States Senate.  When you look at his associations with Marxists such as Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, his long time friendship with Jeremiah Wright who supports Black Liberation Theology, and his admitted search for Marxist professors, Obama's pattern of socialist thought appears to develop more fully. 

      If Obama seems liberal now, he will move far to the left if he wins.  I find that this happens with most candidates around election time, both Republicans and Democrats.  The conservatives and the liberals both try to moderate their stance.  I believe Barack Obama is doing the same thing.  What's unsettling is that the "moderate" version of his views are quite liberal.  My guess is that his inauguration would result in unrestrained socialism, which would be made easier with a Democratic Congress.  I bet he just can't wait to redistribute our wealth.
