A recent AP Poll (link below) of likely voters has found that John McCain (43%) is behind Barack Obama (44%) by just 1 percentage point.  The margin of error is 3.5%.  Just a few weeks ago, many polls had John McCain behind by 8 points or so.  The McCain campaign seems to be surging at just the right time.
