John McCain decided to throw in the towel and give up on Michigan.  Polls show that he is currently down by 7 to 10 percentage points, so he has decided to essentially hand Barack Hussein Obama 17 electoral votes and focus on other swing states.  The stupidity of this decision is unfathomable.

     Michigan is not a State like Rhode Island or Massachusetts that vote overwhelmingly for Democratic candidates.  John Kerry won Michigan in 2004, but only by a few percentage points.  Obama has a better chance, but if McCain had a decent strategy, he would have a shot.  
    
     For those who think pulling out of Michigan is a good idea, it could be the beginning of the end.  Since McCain is giving up and focusing on other states, Obama can take his money and organization and put even more focus on other swing states.  By giving up in Michigan, McCain has made his job harder in other states.  It's hard to believe that someone so focused on military victory can retreat so easily.
