No Bailout For Twin River

It was nice to hear Governor Carcieri say there will be no bailout for Twin River.  During a press conference yesterday, Governor Carcieri said the State will not reduce its tax-rate on the casino from its current level of 61%.  Although, the governor said he would support ending greyhound racing, which produces little revenue for the State, and needs to be subsidized by the owners of Twin River.

I know that many people have problems with gambling, but in my opinon, this is a good way to get revenue.  Rather than continuously rasing taxes, the State shares gambling revenue.  With that said, let's stop kidding ourselves.  Twin River is pretty close to being a casino.  Why not have real table games instead of computerized table games?  My feeling is that this would increase revenue which would allow further expansion, and as a result, more revenue.  For those who oppose casino gambling, you're already close to a casino in more ways than one.
